Good Times at CHS Field!
The Saint Paul Saints hosted the Columbus Clippers on Tuesday, July 21. Despite the CCA cheers, the Saints snapped a five-game winning streak with their loss to the Clippers. But there are always fun times at the game with the “ushertainers” and our favorite pork pal. __________________________ Trivia Question #3 In 1979, the Office Center housed three-word processors, the newest and most advanced 13-word processors in the building. One operator noted that the "machine has many features that my cassette tape system didn't have. I now have a video screen that I can watch while typing and making corrections. This screen also tells me when I have made certain errors in a process. Since the machine has a memory, it can perform searches, sort information, alphabetize, and count." The 1979 article predicted that “Someday every typing station may become a computer terminal linked to a main computer. Second Annual Joe Fournier CCA Golf Tournament event was held on August 6, 2026. This year’s highlight was Bob Schneider, who shot a 71 gross, a score never achieved in our group tournament. We had 36 golfers, plus 3 additional for dinner.
This year’s winners were: · Winning lowest gross score: 1st Bob Schneider 71, 2nd Ray Caster 82 · Low net score: Tom Geisen with 60, 2nd Norm Davis 61 · Longest drive: Bob Schneider · Closest to the pin: Tom Geisen, Bill Trunnel and Steve Filiops · Fewest putts (30): Ron Hunter and Larry Gray
Everyone walked away with a prize. Terry Garvert and Norm Davis secured the top prize with a round for two at Rush Creek Golf Course, cart included.
CCA Members Volunteer at the 3M Golf Tournament Scotty Scheffler, the number one rated golfer in
the world, came to Blaine in the 3M Golf Tournament and drew huge crowds
cheering and yelling for him in upper 90-degree weather. Who better to keep the
crowds in line than Greg Good and Bill Swift. Bill was a Marshall on the
600-yard Hole 12, while Greg worked Hole 17. Both were invited to cool

Tap Connections convenes on the first Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m. We gather at local tap rooms. Come when you want and stay as long or as little as you can. Partners are always welcome and you don’t have to be retired to join in. Please feel free to share with those not on alumni news.
Cargill Alumni gathered on Wednesday, June 24, to see the Twins take on the World Series Champions Los Angeles Dodgers at Target Field. A big draw was to see Dodger Shohie Ohtani pitch and bat. He did bring home the winning game for Los Angeles, but the Twins battled for a close loss of 4 to 3.

The C Bowling League (formerly Cargill Bowling League) is looking for more men and women to bowl with us this year. The League will start bowling Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at TexaTonka Bowling Alley in Minnetonka. The league runs for 25 weeks (except for holidays). This is now an open mixed league that includes but is not limited to Cargill-affiliated bowlers. The returning teams welcome more bowlers, and the league is open to new teams as space in the league allows.
